Me and My Piano Part 2 builds on the foundations laid down in the previous book. This book will introduce you to new notes, rhythms, note-values, and hand positions, through fun pieces and the same fun rainbow system.

Learn fun songs using the rainbow system

Me and My Piano Part 2 contains over 30 simple songs, many of which you might know, including - ‘Can can’, ‘William Tell overture’, and ‘I’m a little tea pot’. There are also some duets, so you can learn to play along with your teacher. Me and My Piano Part 2 uses the same rainbow system to learn new notes as in the previous book - where each of the seven musical notes (A-G) is assigned to one of the colours of the rainbow, with clear fingering diagrams. Part 2 introduces you to new notes, articulations, dynamics, note values, time signatures, sharps, flats, musical notation, and performance directions, and introduces chords, intervals and repeats - by the end of the book you will have learnt how to play notes in over 3 octaves using both hands. There is even a ‘star chart’ in the front for your teacher to fill in (stars not included), and colourful illustrations throughout.

‘Monkey puzzles’ to help your theory

Playing and music theory tips are displayed through Me and My Piano Part 2 in colourful tip boxes, and you are encouraged to learn easy music theory and musicianship through fun games and puzzles - like ‘Musical detective’, and in two ‘Monkey Puzzle’ sections that test your knowledge with fun quizzes, including practising writing treble and bass clefs, sharps, flats, naturals and different notes, filling in fingerings and bar lines, and word games - e.g. fill in the note names to find the answers to musical questions.
